Ich möchte hier meinen "Service", meine Hilfe beim Bestimmen und Lesen von Bleisiegeln
anbieten. Dabei entstehende Fragen zu den Siegeln sollen öffentlich im Blog geklärt werden, sodass alle Leser davon profitieren können. Die Fragen können im Blog gestellt werden, die Photos muß ich aber per Mail erhalten, um sie im Blog hochladen und dem jeweiligen Beitrag zuordnen zu können.
Digitale Siegeldokumentation
Zugleich werde ich eine PDF-Datei erstellen, in der die einzelnen Siegel komplett gelesen und kommentiert nach und nach einstellt werden. So soll eine Siegeldokumentation aller hier bearbeiteten Siegel entstehen. Diese Dokumentation wird dann für alle zum Download bereitstehen und von mir immer wieder aktualisiert. Alle, die ihre Siegel öffentlich eingestellt haben, können so auch die Siegel aller anderen Teilnehmer im Blog einsehen.
Forschung
Siegel sind historische Quellen. Sie verraten daher einiges Wissenswerte über die byzantinische Kultur und Geschichte. Der Sinn dieser Dokumentation besteht darin, die vielen verstreuten Einzelstücke, die oft in Sammlungen neben vielen byzantinischen Münzen liegen, für die Forschung "ans Licht zu holen". Meist werden die Siegel in Sammlungen und wissenschaftlichen Editionen veröffentlicht, auch in Fachartikeln und Auktionskatalogen. Die vielen Sammler, die nur eine geringe Anzahl an Siegeln besitzen, veröffentlichen dagegen nie. Dies soll hier im Blog nun ermöglicht werden.
Voraussetzungen dafür:
a) Sie mailen mir repräsentative Photos in JPG- oder TIF-Format mit Vorder- und Rückseite des Siegels zu, damit ich diese im Blog hochladen kann,
b) fügen Gewichts-, Größenangabe, evtl. bekannten Fundort und freiwillig die Bezugsquelle bei
c) sowie das Einverständnis, dass ich das Urheberrecht an diesen Fotos und das Recht erhalte, die Siegel (unter Angabe Ihres Namens als Sammler oder anonym, wenn Sie das nicht wollen) hier im Blog und ggfs. auch in Buchform zu veröffentlichen,

Ich setze Ihre Photos zu Ihrer Frage im Blog hinzu und bemühe mich, die Fragen zu beantworten und das Siegel zu lesen. Dann stelle ich die Antwort ein und füge Ihr Siegel der Siegeldokumentation bei.

Here I want to offer my service and help to read Byzantine lead seals. Upcoming questions shall be answered in public to give the benefit to all users of the blog. Seal photos I must get via email because I have to load them up in the blog.

I will make a PDF which contains all the single seals I read completly. Seal by seal the documentation will grow, I will update and make it ready to a public download in the blog. All who have published their seals in the blog will also be able to watch the other read seals.
